چکیده
The paper presents the parallel implementation of a multibody formulation for the analysis of the dynamic stability of a soft-in-plane tiltrotor configuration, with regard to the groundand airresonance phenomena. A multibody model of a tiltrotor semispan wind tunnel model has been used to investigate the phenomenon. An original multibody, multidisciplinary formulation has been used; its implementation in a coarse scale parallel environment, both on SMP and PC cluster, is proposed as a means to speed up massive parametric analyses. The dynamic stability of the rotorcraft is investigated to determine the parametric influence of various structural components, such as the damping properties of the blade root.

This paper presents the Real-Time Recursive Dynamics (RTRD) model that is developed for driving simulators. The model could be implemented in the Driving Simulator. The RTRD can also be used for off-line high-speed dynamics analysis, compared with commercial multibody dynamics codes, to speed up mechanical design process. An overview of RTRD is presented in the paper. Basic models for specific ...
متن کاملThe Comparison of Direct and Indirect Optimization Techniques in Equilibrium Analysis of Multibody Dynamic Systems
The present paper describes a set of procedures for the solution of nonlinear static-equilibrium problems in the complex multibody mechanical systems. To find the equilibrium position of the system, five optimization techniques are used to minimize the total potential energy of the system. Comparisons are made between these techniques. A computer program is developed to evaluate the equality co...
متن کاملVibration and Stability of Axially Moving Plates by Standard and Spectral Finite Element Methods
Based on classical plate theory, standard and spectral finite element methods are extended for vibration and dynamic stability of axially moving thin plates subjected to in-plane forces. The formulation of the standard method earned through Hamilton’s principle is independent of element type. But for solving numerical examples, an isoparametric quadrilateral element is developed using Lagrange ...

متن کاملDynamic Characterization and Stability of a Large Size Multibody Tiltrotor Model by Pod Analysis
A great level of flexibility and accuracy can be gained by employing a multibody approach as the modeling strategy for servoaeroelastic analyses of rotating wing aircraft. However, the resulting models are often large, in terms of degrees of freedom, and fully nonlinear, making the dynamic characterization phase cumbersome and computationally demanding. Moreover, nonminimal set formulations suc...
